Mary Lingousky , longtime resident of Sheppton passed away peacefully in her sleep, on February 9, 2017 at her home.
Born in Sheppton on November 12, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Pearl (Recla) Lingousky and resided there most of her life.
She was a member of St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, Sheppton. She was a graduate of Sheppton High School, and Bloomsburg University with a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education, in 1954. Mary was employed in various jobs in Northeastern PA in her younger years, and later retired and spent time with family/friends locally. She enjoyed drawing/painting and
one word that describes Mary is LOVE of animals, cats, dogs, birds, etc. She loved to take walks, pick huckleberries, and prided herself on being very independent.
She is survived by her sister Fran Abdou, of Walnut Creek, CA. who spent her career in CA as a RN and Nurse Practitioner and nephew Michael Abdou, who lives in Laguna Niguel, CA.
A graveside service will be held Friday, April 7, 2017 at 11 am in St. Joseph’s R.C. Cemetery, Sheppton.
