Joseph J. Wolk

Joseph J. Wolk, 80, of Weston, passed away Thursday morning at his home following a lengthy illness.

Born in Oneida, September 19, 1935, he was the son of the late Joseph and Helen (Honis) Wolk.  He resided in Weston for the past 58 years.  He had resided for a time in New Brunswick, NJ after being raised in Oneida.

He was the retired proprietor of Bones Bottled Gas and Wolky’s Mini Market, Sheppton, and was a member of Sacred Heart RC Church, Weston.

Joe was an avid Penn State Football Fan and also enjoyed Polka and spending time with his family.  He was well known for his bilini potato pancakes and often supplied bilini making equipment to local civic organizations for their fundraisers.

He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by two brothers Carl and Leonard Wolk.

Surviving are his wife, to whom he would have been married 59 years on June 29th, the former Dolores A. “Dolly” Bones; three children Donna M. Wolk, Catawissa; Mary L. Wolk, Morgantown, WV; and Paul J. Wolk and his wife Lynn, Zion Grove; one granddaughter Anna Elizabeth Naumovitz and her fiancé Dwight Brillembourg, Williamsburg, VA; a sister Barbara Devaney and her husband Joseph, Weston; two brothers Edward Wolk, Oneida and Robert Wolk, Sheppton; and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held Tuesday at 10 am from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (West) 1265 Rock Glen Road, Rock Glen followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in Sacred Heart RC Church, 554 Main Street, Weston.  Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home Monday evening 6-9 pm.  A Christian Wake Service will be held Monday evening.
