Terrence Heffernan Obituary

Terrence J. “Buddy” Heffernan, 70, of Zion Grove, passed away Tuesday morning, January 12, 2021 at his residence following an unexpected illness.

Born in Dobbs Ferry, NY, July 28, 1950, he was the son of the late B. Thomas Heffernan and Pauline (Sewick) Heffernan, Barefoot Bay, FL; and spent the past 25 years in Zion Grove, after moving from Nuremberg.

Buddy graduated from Hendrick Hudson H.S., Montrose, NY; class of 1968.  He was a Receiving Supervisor for the former NRG Barriers, Valmont.  He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War having served from 1970 to 1972.  He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Nuremberg and a member of the Twin County Lions Club, he enjoyed model trains, playing golf and street rods. 

Surviving in addition to his mother are his loving wife, the former Catherine Croll to whom he was married on July 8, 1978; two sons, Keith Heffernan and his wife Stephanie, Zion Grove; and Brian Heffernan and his wife Melissa, Los Angeles, CA; two sisters Susan Montavon and her husband Virgil, Albany, NY; and Sharon McCarroll and her husband David, Binghamton, NY; several nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held with a Memorial Service on Monday, January 18, 2021, at 11 AM in Bethany United Methodist Church, 217 Mahanoy St, Nuremberg, PA 18241. Burial will follow privately in Nuremberg Cemetery.  Friends may call at the church on Monday morning 10:30 AM until the time of the service.  Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. (West), 1265 Rock Glen Rd., Rock Glen is assisting the family with the arrangements.
