SKCS Albert James Schofield Jr., 92, of Collegeville, passed away early Friday morning, March 25, 2022 at Providence Place of Collegeville following a brief illness.
Born in Hazleton, January 19, 1930, he was the son of the late Albert and Melinda "Minnie" (Parsons) Schofield, Sr. and spent the past years in Collegeville after moving from Whitehaven.
Albert served in the US Navy for over 22 years. He also worked as a General Contractor for Schofield Contracting. Albert was of Methodist faith. He was a life member of the Sellersville VFW Post #245. He enjoyed spending his time woodworking and building and always looked forward to the annual family picnic.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his wife Eleanor (Chabala) Schofield; a daughter Linda Steinhauer, a great-grandchild, a brother William Schofield; and two sisters Gladys James and Jean Thrash.
Surviving are a son David Schofield and wife Mary Ann, Perkiomenville; a daughter Lori Ann Miller and husband Glenn, Quakertown; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews who affectionately called him Uncle Buddy.
His funeral will be held Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 3 PM from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday afternoon from 1 PM until the time of the service. Interment will take place privately in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
