Ruth Ethel Adams, 90, of Eagle Rock, passed away Tuesday afternoon at her home following a brief illness.
Born in Philadelphia, April 3, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Richard Henry and Lillian Olivia (Craig) Young Jr. and spent the past ten years in Eagle Rock. She had previously resided in Drums; Sarasota, FL; National Park, NJ; and Cherry Hill, NJ.
Ruth was a retired secretary for McIlvain’s Wholesale Lumber Company, Philadelphia for 44 years. She enjoyed traveling from her home to Wilkes-Barre to go shopping.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by sisters Lillian Smith and Evelyn Blood.
Surviving are her husband of over 60 years, Albert Frederick Adams; a daughter Bonnie Joy Genovese and her husband Michael, Lavallette, NJ; two grandchildren Kimberly Takwa; and Michael R. Genovese and his wife Allison; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held with a Memorial Service, Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Noon from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East) 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 11 am until the time of the service. Interment will take place privately at the convenience of the family.
