Russell D. Eckrote

Russell D. Eckrote, 92, of Drums, passed away early Friday morning, October 8, 2021 at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Hazleton following a sudden illness.

Born in Rock Glen, July 10, 1929, he was the son of the late Frank and Caroline (Roth) Eckrote and spent the past 45 years in Drums, after moving from Rock Glen and Hazleton.

Russell was a Supervisor for 23 years at Magee Carpet, Bloomsburg and was also Construction Manager of Hazleton Industrial Supply until his retirement.  He was a social member of the Nescopeck VFW and was an avid golfer who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by a sister Elva Eberts, and brothers Franklin, Oscar, Carl, and Lewis Eckrote.

Surviving are his wife of 44 years, the former Janette Hutton to whom he was married on November 1, 1976; two children Dennis Eckrote and his wife Kathy Ann, Drums; and Gloria Davis and her husband Dan, Zion Grove; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

His funeral will be privately at the convenience of the family.  Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East), 669 West Butler Drive, Drums, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
