Roland L. “Fuzzy” Lowery, Sr., 81, of Sugarloaf Township, passed away unexpectedly Monday morning at his home.
Born in Berwick, November 24, 1936, he was the son of the late Marlet C. and Ruth (Hiney) Lowery and spent the past 48 years in Sugarloaf Township, after having resided in Drums, Berwick, and Nescopeck.
Fuzzy was a retired welder and pipe fitter, for several nuclear power plants. He had previously been the proprietor of the American Gas Station, Briar Creek.
He was a member of the Sugarloaf Fire Company, and Defender Hose Company, Berwick. He enjoyed hunting, raising racing pigeons, and was a fixture at The Country Butcher Shop, Drums.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by a brother Richard; and three sisters Doris Cope, Eleanor Thomas, and Judy Lowery.
Surviving are his wife of the past 55 years, the former Jean Siegfried; four children Roland L., Jr. and his wife Noelle, Drums; Keith D. and his wife Diane, Drums; Duane and his wife Mary Ann, Zion Grove; and Lynette J. Cherenyock and her husband Peter, Hazle Township; ten grandchildren Josh, Justin, Keith Jr., Kaitlyn, Nancy and her husband Kyle, Jennifer, and her husband Denis, John and his wife Anna Liza, Joe, Michael, and Nathan; nine great-grandchildren Zachary, Lily, Zoey, William, Angelina, Reliq, Zeelan, Nia, and Kiara; and many nieces and nephews.
All services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
