Rita L. (Formolo) Volosin

Rita L. Volosin, 102, of Richlandtown, passed away early Monday morning, July 29, 2019, at Phoebe Richland Health Care Center in Richlandtown.

Born in Nuremberg, PA, August 17, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Anselmo and Genoeffa (Demanicor) Formolo and spent the past 12 years in Richlandtown after moving from Oneida where she resided for over 40 years.

Rita was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Weston. She was a homemaker who could always make something out of nothing. Rita enjoyed cooking, gardening, knitting, crocheting, reading, music and her daughters' pets.

In her later years while residing at Phoebe-Richland, she was a joy to the residents and the staff with many stories to tell of the world she experienced "back in the day". It's been told that there will never be another like Rita with her many hugs for all who opened their arms and always a story to be told. Many thanks to Phoebe-Richland for their wonderful caring staff.

She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her brothers Lendo, Secundo, Albert, and Rudy Formolo, and sisters Mary Bradley and Lydia Platt.

Surviving are two daughters, Judith Ann Vale, Wilmigton, DE; and Georgie L. Volosin, Easton; two sisters, Priscilla Ryba,; and Genevieve Mumie, a brother, Neal Formolo, and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, August 13, at 10:30 AM in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 554 Main St, Weston. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of the Mass.

Her famly would greatly apprecaite prayers for Rita. In lieu of flowers, Mass cards to the church or donations to Phoebe Richland Health Care Center, 108 S.
