Richard J. "Butch" Pretti, Sr., 75, of Weston, passed away Monday afternoon, December 21, 2020 at his home following a lenghty illness.
Born in Hazleton, August 25, 1945, he was the son of the late Joseph and Ellen (Owens) Pretti and spent his entire life in Weston.
Butch had worked as a Welder for Jeddo Highland Coal Company. He had also worked at the former General Foam, Valmont, and Earl Roberts Body Shop, Conyngham. He was a member of Sacred Heart RC Church, Weston. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Sheppton and the North Union Township Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed hunting and the outdoors and spending time spending time with friends and family at his cabin.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his first wife the former Helen Yutko, who passed away in March, 1996; and a sister, JoAnn Mumaw.
Surviving are his second wife, Deborah Gottshall, to whom he was married April 12, 2013; two sons Richard "Butchie" Jr, and his wife Carmella, Butler Township; and Joseph and his wife Michelle, Weston; two grandchildren Matthew and Kyle Pretti; two great-grandchildren Milena and Bruce Pretti; a step-daughter Andrea Gottshall; a nephew Paul Mumaw; a brother-in-law Lee Mourer, all of Weston; and his best buddy Houdini, the cat.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, all services will be held privatley at the convenience of the family.
