Marie Tarselli Obituary

Marie D. Tarselli, 76, of Sugarloaf, passed away Saturday afternoon March 2, 2024, at home following a courageous three and a half year battle with cancer.  She was surrounded by her loving daughters and caring family members that kept her comfortable during her final days.

Born in Hazleton on May 1, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Maurina (DiSabella) Paul and spent the past 52 years in Sugarloaf after moving from Hazleton.

Marie loved being a full-time homemaker, and she devoted her time and energy into being a caring wife, mother, and grandmother. Despite an early passing, her mother taught her the value of family, the importance of religion, and how to be strong and humble.  Over the years, she worked several part-time jobs, spending several years at the Salvation Army Thrift Store, Boscov's, and Fowler, Dick & Walker.  She was a member of St. John Bosco RC Church, Sugarloaf. She was also a past member of the Drums Lionettes Club, the Red Hat Society and she enjoyed training and making friends at Fyzical Fitness Gym, Hazleton.  Her hobbies included gardening, baking, and playing games with her grandchildren, but above all things, selflessly caring for her family and pets.

She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her loving husband of 55 years, Frank Tarselli Jr., who passed away July 25, 2023; and her feline friend LiSimba.

Surviving are daughters, Maria Johnson and husband Adrian, Kingston; Regina Tarselli and companion Keith Stancavage, Sugarloaf; and Yvette Tarselli; grandchildren, Luciano, Ariana, and Abriella Stranko; and son-in-law, Michael Stranko, Sugarloaf.  Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Her funeral will be held Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 9:30 AM from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. John Bosco RC Church, 573 Rt-93, Sugarloaf.  Interment will follow in Calvary RC Cemetery, Drums. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6 PM to 8 PM.
