Leon F. DePaul, 95, formerly of Brookhill, passed away, Wednesday August 29, 2018 at The Laurels Senior Living, Hazleton, where he had resided for the past three years.
Born in Rockville Centre, NY, July 29, 1923, he was the son of the late James and Beatrice (Ward) DePaul and had resided in Brookhill for eight years before moving to the Laurels.
Leon was a retired Certified Dental Technician and had owned and operated Associates Dental Labratory in Long Island. He was a Navy veteran of WWII and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of St. John Bosco RC Church, Sugarloaf. He was also an accomplished sculptor, artiist, and singer.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his wife Carmela (Salsone) DePaul, who passed away September 1, 2015; a daughter Donna Macri, August 16, 2008; and a brother Vincent DePaul.
Surviving are a daughter Pamela Fries and her husband Robert, Sugarloaf; four grandchildren Michael, Erin, Nicole, and Tiffany, and six great-grandchildren.
His funeral will be held Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 9:30 am from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East) 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. John Bosco RC Church, 573 State Route 93, Sugarloaf. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Drums. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday evening 6- 8 PM.
