Joan A. Frey, 75, of Bloomsburg, passed away Sunday morning, April 16, 2023, at her residence following a lengthy illness.
Born in Sugarloaf, August 6, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Anna (Wojcik) Brutosky and spent the past 50 years in Bloomsburg, after moving from Sugarloaf.
Joan was employed as a laborer for Boboli Co., Hazleton. She was a member of Sacred Heart RC Church, Weston. Joan enjoyed watching and rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates. She also liked to solve crossword puzzles and spend time with her family.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her loving husband Alvin James "Jim" Frey, who passed away December 28, 2021; a brother, Thomas Brutosky; and a sister Julia Novitsky.
Surviving are four children, Sandra Johnson, Bloomsburg; Michael Frey, Zion Grove; Paula Seatter and husband David, Zion Grove; and Keith Frey and his companion Eugenia DeLeon, Nuremberg; three grandchildren, Zachary, Ashley, and Cody Johnson, two step-grandchildren, Kyle and Danielle; Six great-grandchildren; six siblings, Mary Houser, Temple; Anna Pongrazzi, Nuremberg; Theresa Gottstein, Nuremberg; Ralph Brutosky, Rock Glen; Francis Brutosky and wife Nancy, FL; Barbara Woodring and husband Robert, Sugarloaf; sister-in-law, Joyce Brutosky, Sugarloaf; and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 10 AM in Sacred Heart RC Church, Weston. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart RC Cemetery, Weston. Friends may call at the church ON Saturday from 9 AM until the time of Mass. Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (West), 1265 Rock Glen Road, Rock Glen is assisting the family with the arrangements.
