Jean M. Fetchko, 87, of Drums, passed away Tuesday morning, April 25, 2023, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre, following a short illness.
Born in Hazleton, January 7, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Llewllyn and Mary (Soltis) Hoffman and had spent her entire life in Drums.
Jean was employed at the Hazleton Post Office and the Selective Service System. She was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served from 1954 through 1956. Jean was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, Hazleton. In her younger years she enjoyed participating in her bowling league, and had recently been fond of gardening, taking care of her yard, spending time outdoors, and was very proud of being a published author.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband, Thomas Fetchko who passed away July 26, 1991; and sister, Irene Smith.
Surviving are a daughter, Rhonda Adams and husband Albert; two granddaughters, Jennifer Downey and Lauren Adams; two sisters, Joyce Whitebread; and Mary Lou Gooch and husband Ed; a brother, Roy Hoffman and wife Glenda; long-time companion, John F. Craig, Jr. and his children, Nancy, Jacqueline and John F. Craig, III.; and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held with a memorial celebration on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at 3 PM from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. (East), 669 West Butler Drive, Drums. Interment will take place privately at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday afternoon from 2 PM until the time of the service.
