Doris J. Fisher, 80, of Hazleton, passed away Friday, July 31, 2020, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital in Wilkes Barre, following a short illness.
Born in Montour Falls, NY, September 11, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Arch and Anna (Greenway) Woodward and spent the past 30 years in Hazleton, after moving from Freeland and Upper Lehigh.
Doris was seamstress at local factories and also worked at Bucilla Corp., Boboli Pizza and McDonald's all in Hazleton. She enjoyed sewing, walking, going to the mall, local church Bazaars and taking her granddaughter and great-grandchildren on little adventures. She was often in attendance of her great-grandchildren's softball, basketball and baseball games. Doris enjoyed the simple pleasures, whether it be Rita's Ices overlooking the Hazleton airport, or just a chocolate chip cookie with her coffee. She was a lover of all animals, but is now reunited with her dalmatians Brittany, Evita, and Molly, her English bulldog Zeus, and her cat Tiger.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her six siblings, Lee, Jack, Ronnie, Ruth Woodward, Ida Morgridge, and Alice Dunbar, and infant twin grandchildren Micheal and Michelle Mumaw.
Surviving are a daughter, JoAnne Mumaw, Hazleton; granddaughter, Kimberly Mumaw and her fiancé Dustan Dalesandro, Drums; and two great-grandchildren, Alexis and Ryan Dalesandro, at home; many nieces and nephews; and her best friend Kathy Frask, Hazleton.
Her funeral will be held privately at the convienience of the family. Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive is assisting the family.
