Deanna Faye Rhodes, 81, of Nuremberg, passed away Monday, October 4, 2021 at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Hazleton, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Hazleton, June 3, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Gerald and Minnie (Keller) Brior and spent the past 60 years in Nuremberg, after moving from Rock Glen.
Deanna was a Homemaker for most of her life. She had previously worked for the Bloomsburg Silk Mill; as a Bookkeeper for the Fern Glen Garment Factory; First National Bank, Nuremberg; and Hazleton National Bank, Hazleton. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Nuremberg. She was Cub Scout den mother, member of the PTA, and active with the band parents. She enjoyed crafting, cooking, knitting, crocheting, and playing cards. She also enjoyed traveling with family, having traveled twice to each of the lower 48 states, and spending summers at the beach in Delaware.
Surviving are her husband of the past 60 years, Clyde L.; four children Clyde II and his wife Tina, Chester, VA; Carl and his wife Kelly, Forrest, VA; Chris and his wife Jean Ann, Streetsboro, OH; and Cathy Herring and her husband Jason, Zion Grove; four grandchildren, Tyler Rhodes, and his wife Laura, Lynchburg, VA; Savannah Herring, Zion Grove, Nathan and Caroline Rhodes, Chester, VA; a brother Gerald "Clifford" Brior and his wife Susan, Rock Glen; and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held Saturday at 10 am from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (West) 1265 Rock Glen Road, Rock Glen, with continued services at 10:30 am in Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 260 Mahanoy Street, Nuremberg. Burial will follow in Nuremberg Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday evening from 6-8 pm.
