Clarence F. “Clyde” “Buddy” Broskoskie, Jr., 64, of Freeland, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday evening at his residence following a six-month illness.
Born in Freeland, March 19, 1954, he was the son of the late Clarence F. Sr. and Bernice J. (McCracken) Broskoskie and had spent his entire life in Freeland.
Clarence graduated from Freeland High School Class of 1972 and was a US Navy Veteran during the Vietnam War. He was retired from the Tobyhanna Army Depot where he was employed as a mechanical technician. He was an honorary life social member of the Freeland VFW Post #5010; a member of the Highland Club and the Freeland Chicken Pluckers. He was an avid golfer and participated in the PP&L summer golf league and made biannual trips with friends to play in North Carolina. He also enjoyed spending time at various casinos.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents by a brother, Kenneth and a nephew, Daniel who passed away in 2004.
Surviving are his loving fiancée of 36 years, Sandy Shupp; brother, Fred Broskoskie and wife Dolores, Drums; three nephews and a niece.
A Memorial service will be held Saturday at 10 am from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums with Pastor Chad Bennett of Grace Fellowship Church, West Hazleton officiating. Burial will follow in Freeland Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 9 am until the time of the service.
