Chris P. Korner, 54, of Drums, passed away unexpectedly Saturday afternoon at his home.
Born in Port Jefferson, NY, February 8, 1964, he was the son of the late Robert and Phyllis (Sohner) Korner and spent the past four years in Drums after moving from Monroe, NY.
Chris was a retired New York City Police Officer. He was a member of the 845 Club, Sand Springs Golf League, Drums Hunting Club. He was also a member of the Greenwood Lake and Chester Fire Departments in New York.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by a brother Thomas Korner, and a brother-in-law William Kasson.
Surviving are his wife of the past 15 years, Carmen Benavides; two step-sons Bryan Padilla, Monroe, NY; and Kevin Padilla, Staten Island, NY; a brother Robert Jr. (Carole) Korner, Hilton Head Island, SC; four sisters Lynn (Jerri) Korner, Canajohrie, NY; Joanne Kasson, Middleburgh, NY; Robin Korner, Palm Bay, FL; and Lee (Arnie) Marsh, Middleburgh, NY; a brother-in-law Plinio (Rose) Benavides; six sisters-in-law Carolina (David) Aliceo; Ruth (Hammid) Jameel; Cenira (Michael) Bliberg; Judith (Mario) Benavides; Rosalba (Ramon) Pena; Salvadora (Roscoe) Wood; and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held with a Memorial Service Wednesday at Noon from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East) 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday morning from 11 am until the time of the service.
