Barbara Mae Gaval, 76, of Sugarloaf, passed away Friday morning, March 22, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Hazleton, March 21, 1948, she was the daughter of the late James and Lorraine (Slowitsky) Wolfe and spent the past 47 years in Sugarloaf, after moving from Forty Fort.
Barbara was a 1966 graduate of Forty Fort Jr. and Sr. High School. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse for Wilkes-Barre General Hospital and Dr. Duffy in Conyngham. She had also established Caring Care Home Health Services which she operated out of her home for 25 years.
She was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Conyngham where she was a member of the church choir, chairwoman of the Apple Fest and Super Bowl Soup Sale. She was also involved with working on the annual Mother-Daughter Dinner, Living Nativity, and veteran service projects. Barbara enjoyed spending her time painting and doing crafts.
Surviving are her loving husband, Frank Gaval to whom she was married on December 17, 1983; a brother James Wolfe, and his wife Marjorie, Wilkes-Barre; a sister, Dawn Wolfe, Doylestown; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Her funeral will be held with a Memorial Service on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at 11 AM in Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 467 S Main St, Conyngham, PA 18219. Interment will take place privately at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the church on Saturday morning from 10 AM until the time of the service.
