Robert A. DeJoseph, 82, of Sugarloaf, passed away early Wednesday morning at Saint Luke's Manor in Hazleton, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Hazleton, March 20, 1937, he was the son of the late Ralph and Mildred (Gentilesco) DeJoseph and had spent most of his life in Hazleton.
Robert worked as Security Guard for Altadis USA Inc., McAdoo. He was a US Army veteran and was a member of Saint John Bosco Roman Catholic Church, Sugarloaf. Robert loved to read and was an avid sports fan, especially the New York Yankees and Penn State football.
Surviving are his loving wife, the former Barbara J. Radtke to whom he was married on October 15, 1966 in Hazleton; two daughters Jacqueline Owazany and husband Ronald; and Karen Baran; all of Sugarloaf; four grandchildren, Zachary Owazany, and Kelsey, Sydney, and Morgan Baran; two siblings, Sister Mary Grace DeJoseph, York; and Ralph DeJoseph and wife Patricia, Hazleton; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 9:30 am at Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am in St. John Bosco RC Church, Sugarloaf. Burial will follow in Most Precious Blood Cemetery, Hazleton. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday evening from 6 to 8 pm.
