Beverly R. (Fritz) Michael

Surrounded by her family, Beverly R.  Michael, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 10, 2018.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey, and the love of her life, Wayne, with whom she had been married for 68 years. Beverly is survived by a son, Dale Michael; a daughter, Ginny (Michael) Bidleman; son-in-law, Sam Bidleman; her grandson, Cade Bidleman; her brother Norman Fritz and his wife Gloria. 

Beverly, a lifelong resident of Beaver Township, was born on September 16, 1930, and raised in Zion Grove, PA, the daughter of Ellis and Dorothy (Davis) Fritz. She grew up on the family’s farm and graduated from Beaver Township High School, Class of 1948. Beverly married Wayne, her high school sweetheart, on June 24, 1950. 

Beverly was employed at Sneidman’s Jewelry in Bloomsburg from 1948 to 1952. She enjoyed being a mother and homemaker and in 1970, she became the secretary of the Beaver Main Elementary School, Bloomsburg Area School District, until retiring in 1992.

She was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, and served on the Consistory for 23 years. She taught the Adult Sunday School Class for many years and directed their Vacation Bible School. Beverly was also a Life member of the Bloomsburg Hospital Auxiliary. 

In 1993, Wayne and Beverly began traveling by RV throughout the US and Canada, settling down in their Bradenton, FL winter home where they made many new friends and enjoyed visits from their children and grandson. Beverly was also active in church dinners, scenic hotdogs sales, the PTA and enjoyed quilting and crafts. She and Wayne were inseparable, sharing a love of Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and reading. 

At the request of the family, there will be no visitation and flowers will be provided. They also want to share their appreciation to the staff of Geisinger's Home Health and Hospice for their professional and loving care. 

Beverly’s memorial service will be held beginning at 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 15, 2018, at St. Peter's U.C.C., 114 Beaver Valley Road, Bloomsburg with pastors Dwayne Nichols and Rev. Christine Kirchner officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
