Albert Duna, Sr. Obituary

Albert John Duna Sr., 88 of Drums, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Highland, July 22, 1930, he was the son of the late John and Anna (Antolick) Duna and spent the past 50 years in Drums, after moving from Freeland.

Albert was a loving husband, father, friend and mentor. He was known as a pioneer in the electrical field throughout the Hazleton area.  Through his hard work and help from his family, he was successfully able to own and create Duna Electric. He valued teaching many men a life long trade.

He was proud of his family and passionate about his business.  He enjoyed summers at Lake Harmony and a cold beer at the end of the day.  He was a man that needed very little in life to make him happy but gave back so much to so many.

He was a US Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War having attained the rank of Sergeant. He was a member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, St. Johns.

He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by a son Albert Duna Jr., and a sister Shirley Searfoss.

Surviving are his wife, the former Laura Wenner, to whom he was married on April 4, 1959 in Conyngham; three children Randy Duna, Melbourne, FL; Scott Duna and his wife Stefanie, Drums; Lori Miller and her husband Alan, Drums; a daughter-in-law Monica Duna, Hughesville; eight grandchildren, Brittney, Emil, John, Anna Marie, Asa, Emma, Reagan, and Wesley; four great-grandchildren, Jasmin, Natalie, Sebastian and Carter; and several nieces and nephews.

Albert and his family would like to thank his great niece Allyson for helping them through this trying time.

His funeral will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums, Friday, evening 5-8 PM.
