William James Whitebread, 87 of Rock Glen, passed away Tuesday morning at Fritzingertown Senior Living Community, Drums, where he had been a resident for the past 8 months.
Born in Hollenback Township on June 9, 1924, he was the son of the late Frederick and Gertrude (Klinesmith) Whitebread, and resided most of his adult life in Rock Glen.
He was a retired poultry farmer, and also worked at All-Steel Inc. Valmont for 10 years. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Rock Glen. Jim enjoyed traveling and loved to raise flowers.
He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by his wife Fern B. (Foose) Whitebread, who passed away on May 9, 2007; and brothers Robert, Charles, and Earl.
Surviving are his sister Thelma Forsythe, Berwick; and numerous nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. from Harman Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc. (West) 1265 Rock Glen Road, Rock Glen, with his pastor the Reverend Louis Aita officiating. Burial will follow in Black Creek U.M. Cemetery, Sugarloaf. Friends may call the funeral home Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
