Leonard J. Lechner

Leonard J. Lechner, 82, of Weston, passed away Monday morning at his residence.

Born in Weston on September 22, 1933, he was the son of the late Charles and Veronica (Comcheck) Lechner and spent his entire life in Weston.

He was a member of Sacred Heart R.C. Church in Weston and had worked for Foster Wheeler Corporation in Mountain Top for 28 years as a welder. Leonard was a member of the Shenandoah Fish and Game Club, the Nuremberg – Weston Volunteer Fire Company, the Weston Athletic Association, and the North Union Township Sportsman Club.

Preceding him death, in addition to his parents, were his wife, the former Agnes M. Herness who passed away January 17, 1996, two brothers Carl and Lawrence Lechner, and a sister Florence Sainclair.

Surviving is his nephew Carl Lechner II. of Hazle Township.

His funeral will take place Friday at 10am from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (West), 1265 Rock Glen Road, Rock Glen, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am in Sacred Heart RC Church, 554 Main St, Weston, with the Reverend Patrick McDowell celebrating the Mass.  Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Weston.  Friends are invited to call at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6pm to 8pm.
