Franklin Bryan Coffman

Franklin B. Coffman, 93, of Conyngham, passed away Thursday Evening at Geisinger Medical Center Danville.

Born in Huntington, WV on January 31, 1923 he was the son of the late Gobel and Oweda Coffman and spent the last 53 years in Conyngham after moving from Huntington, WV.

Franklin was a member of Conyngham United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Brother Group and a regular attendee of Harvest Bible Chapel in Conyngham.  He worked for 50 years in retail, 25 of them as a manager at Deisroth’s Department Store and before that as a manager at Bradshaw Diehl in WV.  Franklin was the President of Conyngham Senior Citizens, a lifetime member of Oddfellows in Huntington WV, and a member of Conyngham R.O.M.E.O. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, and was a beloved father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents by his wife Margie Ann (Jackson) Coffman on July 24, 2006 and a brother Robert Coffman.

Surviving are a son David Coffman and his wife Alice, Sugarloaf; a daughter Kimberly Reid and her husband William, Long Island, NY; grandson Will Coffman, Long Island, NY; a brother Carl Coffman, Huntington, WV and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory (East) 669 West Butler Drive, Drums.  Burial will follow in Conyngham Union Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 6-8 PM.
