William Thomas Rigotti, 40, of Hazle Township, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at his home.
Born in Hazleton, June 19, 1980, he was the son of the William M. and Ruth I. (Davis) Rigotti, Hazle Township. He had spent a lot of years traveling for various projects, but was currently residing in Hazle Township.
William was a US Army Veteran, having served twelve years, his career began with the reserves and then moved on to active duty. During his time he completed two overseas tours. He was passionate about education and attended Duquesne University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and then went to higher education after his Army training earning a Master’s Degree in Communication and was in the process of completing a Master of Business Administration, both from Northeastern University in Boston. He was a member of Ss. Cyril & Methodius Roman Catholic Church. William strived for excellence in his short life, was always a kind person, and always up for a debate with his strong Republican views. When time allowed he enjoyed being able to be a kid again playing with his niece and nephews.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Thomas S. and Ruth I. (Schauer) Davis, and William J. and Dolores (Martini) Rigotti; and a great aunt, Zia Margaret Rigotti Evanco.
Surviving in addition to his parents, are a sister, Samantha D. Zambotti, her husband Joseph “Jino”, and their children, Natalee, Joey, and Nico, Drums; a bother, Timothy W. Rigotti and his wife Kathryn, Hazleton; a grandmother, Amanda Rigotti; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
His funeral will be held Wednesday, February 3, 2021 with a Mass of Christian Burial in Ss. Cyril and Methodius Parish at the Church of St. Joseph’s Church, 604 North Laurel Street, Hazleton. COVID Restrictions including mask wearing, social distancting and a capacity limit of 100 persons will be enforced at the church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, 49 S. Hunter Highway, Drums
