William Angelo Luchi

William Angelo Luchi, 77, of Drums, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at Embassy of Scranton following a brief illness.

Born in Hazleton, PA, June 3, 1947, he was the son of the late Howard and Adele (Koloski) Luchi. Bill lived in Drums until 1978 when he moved to Blakeslee, PA. After marrying in 2018 he moved back to Drums.

William was a 1966 graduate of West Hazleton High School and was employed as a Driver for UPS. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Vietnam war. Bill was a devoted member of St John Bosco R.C. Church, Conyngham. He was also a member of the Valley VFW Post 8161, and The Freeland American Legion post 473. Bill was honored  to help organize golf tournaments that benefited patients in the Veteran Administration Hospital in Wilkes Barre, PA. Bill should be remembered as someone who thoroughly enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycles, was an avid golfer, and enjoyed skiing locally, as well as in Lake Tahoe, Whistler, British Columbia and the Alps.

William was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Adele and his sisters Elizabeth SissyBetty Luchi, Patricia Luchi Horvath and Carolyn Luchi.

Surviving are his wife, Millie; his brother, Robert Luchi (wife Julie); and nephews: Jeffrey Horvath,(wife Beth and family) and Anthony Horvath (wife Layla and family). William also is survived by an aunt and many cousins.

William's funeral will be held with a Mass of Christian Burial, on Monday October 21, 2024 at 10:00am at St. John Bosco R.C. Church, Conyngham. Burial with military honors will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Drums, PA. Friends may call at the Church on Monday morning from 9:00-10:00 am.
