Wayne A. Lohrke, 83, of Sugarloaf, passed away Wednesday evening, January 25, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Hazleton following a lengthy illness.
Born in Hazleton, May 10, 1939, he was the son of the late George August and Ruth (Good) Lohrke and spent the past 48 years in Sugarloaf, after moving from West Hazleton.
Wayne was a graduate of West Hazleton High School Class of 1957. He was a Carpenter Foreman for many local churches, schools, and industrial buildings. Wayne loved going to the beach, especially Myrtle Beach, SC, with his wife and family. He was a master craftsman who appreciated making custom wooden creations.
Surviving are his loving wife, the former Bernadette Wydock to whom he was married for 61 years on January 20, 2023; three children, Lisa Eberts and husband Mark, Tamaqua; Mark Lohrke, Sugarloaf; and Kyle Lohrke and wife Laura, Arbutus, MD; twin grandsons Clayton and Andrew; a sister Linda Graeff, Fleetwood; several nieces and nephews; and his dog Harley.
A public visitation will be held Monday, January 30, 2023, from 6 to 8 PM from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. (East), 669 West Butler Drive, Drums. His funeral services and interment in Calvary RC Cemetery will take place privately at the convenience of the family.
