Obituary

Thomas A. Luchi Jr., 63, of Drums, passed away Wednesday afternoon, September 16, 2020, at Mountain Top Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Mountain Top, following a brief illness.

Born in Hazleton, May 24, 1957, he was the son of Betty (Grosch) Luchi, Drums; and the late Thomas A. Luchi, Sr. and had spent his entire life in Drums.

Thomas was a Construction Worker for 27 years at Pennsy Supply, Dorrance. He was a member of Saint John's UCC Church, St. John's. He was also a life member of the Butler Twp. Fire Hall, Ridge Runners Rod and Gun Club, Muncy Valley; was on the Butler Twp. Zoning Board, and was one of five owners who operated the Evergreen Raceway from 1988-1998. Before running the Raceway he raced asphalt Late Models, dirt Late Models and 358 dirt Modifides at several tracks.

Surviving, in addition to his mother are a daughter Madison Zapotosky, McAdoo; companion Kelly Doninetz, Drums; stepdaughter Lona Lee Doninetz, Drums; step-grandchildren Faith Kelly and Destiny Hope Vargason who referred to him as PopPop; two sisters Janet Kupsho and her husband Robert, Drums; and Dr. Deborah Mistal and her husband Edward, Drums and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held with a Memorial Graveside Service on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at 11am in Calvary RC Cemetery, 49 S. Hunter Hwy., Drums. Friends may call on Tuesday evening, September 22, 2020 from 5pm - 8pm at Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums. Covid-19 restrictions, including masks, social distancing, and capacity will be enforced at the funeral home and at the cemetery.
