Susan (Zapatosky) Manjone

Susan Manjone, 89, of Weston, passed away Tuesday evening at Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dallas, following a short illness.

Born in Tresckow on August 4, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Sue (Timko) Zapatosky and spent the past 60 years in Weston after moving from McAdoo.

She was class valedictorian in 1950 of McAdoo High School. She was a housewife and loving mother for all of her life.  She started her work life at Tung-sol to help support brothers and sisters. Later, she managed the family grocery store located in Weston. Susan lived for her family and always put others before herself.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and playing the piano.  She was a member of Sacred Heart RC of Weston singing in the choir for 25 years and being a intern organist when called upon.  

She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, a son Roger Manjone Jr.; six brothers Dugan, Jerry, Eugene, Emil, Timmy, and infant brother James Zapatosky; and two nephews.  

Surviving are her loving husband Roger Manjone Sr., to whom she was married on October 13, 1957. They would have shared their 65th wedding anniversary this year.  Also surviving is daughter Susan Manjone of Dallas; daughter Sandy Vansock, Weston; daughter Anita Manjone of Millville; daughter Beth and spouse Joseph Bezares of Weston; and a sister Joyce Leggo of Hazleton; multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren.  

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, April 18, 2022 at Sacred Heart RC, Weston at 10 am. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart RC Cemetery.  Friends may call at Sacred Heart RC, Weston on Monday from 9:00 am-10:00 am.  Harman Funeral Homes and Crematory (West) 1265 Rock Glen Road, Rock Glen, PA is helping the family with the services.
