Stephen J. Dancho, Sr.

Stephen J. Dancho, Sr., 68, of Hazlebrook, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, June 22, 2025, following a sudden illness.

Born in Hazleton, March 16, 1957, he was the son of the late Joseph F. and Frances (Lozosky) Dancho and had spent most of his life in the Hazleton area.

Steve was a 1975 graduate of Hazleton High School. He was employed as an Equipment Operator for Atlantic Carbon Group, Hazleton, until retiring in 2019. In his spare time Steve liked spending time outdoors, going hunting, shooting, and riding four wheelers.

He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his loving wife, the former Joan Skokowski, and a brother, Joseph J. Dancho.

Surviving are a son, Stephen J. Dancho, Jr. and wife Andrea, Sugarloaf; three stepsons, Michael Heintzelman, Hazleton; Joseph Heintzelman and wife Brenda, Binghamton, NY; and Raymond Heintzelman, Hazleton; a sister, JoAnn Perhonitch and husband Charles, Tamaqua; two nephews, Joseph M. Dancho, Lawrenceville; and Charles J. Perhonitch, Tamaqua; as well as several grandchildren.
