Sophie C. (Lesnefsky) Plafcan

Sophie C. Plafcan, 91, of Beaver Twp., Bloomsburg passed away Wednesday afternoon at Glen Brook Rehab and Nursing Center, Berwick, where she had been a guest for the past five years.

Born in Bloomsburg, June 9, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Sophie (Bolinsky) Lesnefsky and had spent most of her life in Bloomsburg.

Sophie was a member of Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Weston,  and also the Ladies Auxiliary of the Beaver Twp. Fire Company. She enjoyed planting her garden, tending to her flowers and cooking.

She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents by her loving husband Robert B. Plafcan who passed away November 19, 2011; and two sisters Annie Roan, and Jenny Ellis.

Surviving are a son Robert "Charlie" C. Plafcan, Beaver Twp., a sister Regina Lesnefsky, Berwick; a brother-in-law Robert Ellis, Bloomsburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held Monday at 11 AM from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (West), 1265 Rock Glen Road, Rock Glen. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery, Weston. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday morning from 10 AM until the time of the service.
