Sarah Ellen (Rinehimer) Taney

Sarah Ellen Taney, 92, of Dorrance, passed away early Thursday morning, August 14, 2025.

Born in Dorrance, July 1, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Earl R. and Mable R. (Smith) Rinehimer and lived her whole life in Dorrance.

Sarah was a Seamstress for many local garment factories including Ronnie Dress Factory, Shickshinny, for 28 and a half years and was last employed at Wendy's in Drums for 14 years until her retirement at 81. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Hobbie. As a young girl, she enjoyed spending her time around horses. Sarah enjoyed completing word searches, was an avid baseball fan and loved watching the Braves and Phillies play.

She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her loving husband of 64 years, Eugene E. Taney, who passed away March 16, 2018; and a sister, Doris Bower.

Surviving are two children, Jeanie Mylet and her husband Michael; and Zane Taney and his wife Deborah, all of Dorrance Township; five grandchildren, Tammi Smith, Amanda Balla, Tara Fetterman, Jillian Struble, Mallory Blasavage, 12 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and close friends, Daniel and Maggie Kozak, Dorrance Twp.

Her funeral will be held privately at the convenience of her family. Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
