Ronald W. Marhelko, 68, of Zion Grove, passed away Thursday morning March 18, 2021 at Mountain City Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Hazle Township, following a short illness.
Born in Hazleton, February 10, 1953, he was the son of the late John and Helen (Jowell) Marhelko and spent his entire life in Zion Grove.
Ronald worked as a Laborer on the family farm, for Abraczinskas Farm Machinery, and North Union Township, and as a groundskeeper at Sand Springs Country Club. He was a member of Sacred Heart RC Church, Weston; and a social member of American Legion Post #699, Nuremberg. He enjoyed auto racing, hunting, farming, yard work, watching car auctions on television, and working on his lawn mowers.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by two brothers Eugene and Joseph Marhelko and a nephew Mark Marhelko and his best pal a Weimaraner named Poochie.
Surviving are two sisters Barbara Davis, Emmaus; and Theresa Barron and her husband Joseph, Little Falls, NY; a brother Larry Marhelko and his wife Debbie, Zion Grove; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held with a Memorial Service Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 11 am from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (West) 1265 Rock Glen Road, Rock Glen. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Weston. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday March 27, 2021 from 9 am until the time of the service.
