Roland W. "Duce" Slusser, 82, of Bloomsburg, passed away Wednesday morning, June 18, 2025, at his residence.
Born in Berwick, May 15, 1943, he was the son of the late Paul and Ruth (Nungusser) Slusser and spent the past 40 years in Bloomsburg, after moving from Nescopeck.
Roland was a cement truck driver for many years. In his younger years, he was an avid raccoon hunter, and in his spare time, Roland enjoyed fishing, hunting, raising deer, and racing cars at Numidia Dragway.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents by two brothers, William and Earl, and four sisters, Dolores, Hazel, Janet, and Charlotte and an acclaimed granddaughter, Ashley Sassaman.
Surviving are his loving wife, the former Mildred Bartels to whom he would be married for 63 years on August 18, 2025; brother-in-law, Phillip Bartles and wife Cindy, CA; and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held privately at the convenience of his family. Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. (West), 1265 Rock Glen Rd., Rock Glen is assisting the family with the arrangements.
