Robert "Buster" Woodring, 79, of Sugarloaf, passed away suddenly Wednesday afternoon, January 24, 2024, at his residence in Sugarloaf, following a brief illness.
Born in Hazleton, January 21, 1945, he was the son of the late Robert and Catherine (Nicolodi) Woodring and spent the past 38 years in Sugarloaf, after moving from Sybertsville.
Buster was a Construction Foreman for Slusser Brothers/Pennsy Supply for 43 years having retired in 2017. He was a member of Saint John Bosco RC Church Sugarloaf, and various car clubs. He was extremely handy and liked remodeling, building, and fixing things around the house. He was a Mustang, NASCAR and NHRA enthusiast, and enjoyed daily rides with his Australian Cattle dog Max.
Surviving are his loving wife, the former Barbara Brutosky, to whom he was married on October 28, 1967 in Holy Trinity Slovak Church, Hazleton; a son Ryan Woodring and his companion Kelly Spaide, Sugarloaf; two grandsons, Brady and Cameron Woodring, both of Bloomsburg; a sister, Judy Parker, Tuscan, AZ and several nephews and nieces including Lisa Parker, Seattle, WA.
His funeral will be held with a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, January 29, 2024 at 10 AM in Sacred Heart RC Church, 554 Main St, Weston, PA 18256. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Monday morning from 9 AM until the time of the Mass.
