Robert M. Wolk, Sr.

Robert M. "Jabber" Wolk, Sr., 78, of Sheppton, passed away Sunday afternoon, August 25, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest in Allentown.

Born in Hazleton, March 27, 1946, he was the son of the late Joseph and Helen (Honis) Wolk and spent most of his life in the Oneida, and Sheppton area.

Robert was a 1964 graduate of West Hazleton High School.  He retired after 39 years as a plate maker for Bemis Company, Hazleton. He was a member of St. Josephs RC Church, Sheppton, and the American Legion Post #616, Sheppton. He enjoyed showing and racing his many cars, listening to classic rock music, and watching all sports, especially the San Francisco Giants and the Cleveland Browns.  Jabber also loved playing softball, shooting darts, playing cards, cooking, beer, dancing, and his two dogs Jab and Rock.

He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his grandson, Robert Michael Wolk, III., and brothers, Lenny, Carl, Joseph and Edward Wolk.

Surviving are three sons, Brian Wolk and his wife Lisa, Sunnyvale, CA; Robert Wolk Jr., Sheppton; and James Wolk, Westfield, N.J.; two grandchildren, Thomas and Alex Wolk; and a sister, Barbara Devaney, Weston; many nieces and nephews also survive.

His funeral will be held Friday August 30, 2024, at 10:15 AM from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (West), 1265 Rock Glen Road, Rock Glen, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. Josephs R.C. Church, 14 E. Oak Street, Sheppton. Burial will follow in St. Josephs RC Cemetery, Sheppton. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 PM.
