Robert A. Stark, Sr.

Robert A. Stark, Sr. 74, of Conyngham, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest in Allentown, following a lengthy illness.

Bob, or more well known by his PPL coworkers as Duke, was born in St. Joseph's Hospital in Hazleton, on April 30, 1951. He was the son of the late Harry A. and Marie (Mondik) Stark and spent the past 70 years in Conyngham, after moving from West Hazleton.

Bob graduated from West Hazleton High School in 1969 and retired from PPL Electric Co. in 2013 after 41 years of service with the company. He also worked part time at Thrift Furniture Mart in Sugarloaf for 31 years. He was a member of the Conyngham Sportsman's Club. Bob enjoyed taking trips to the cabin, mowing grass and shopping. He was a member of the Catholic Faith.

He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his brother, Thomas Sr. and a sister-in-law, Ann Eckman.

Surviving are his loving wife of 49 years, the former Nancy Hilbish; son Robert "Robby" Stark, Jr., Sugarloaf; a sister, Carol Rymond and her husband Daniel, Conyngham; sister-in-law, Nancy C. Stark, Conyngham; brothers-in-law, Dennis Eckman, Carlisle; and John Hilbish and his wife Barbara, Bernville; a niece, Dr. Allison Yourechko and her husband Chris, Conyngham; four nephews, Thomas Stark, Jr., Harrisburg; Daniel Eckman and his wife Molly, Seattle, WA; Peter Eckman and his wife Kristin, Port Orange, FL; and Luke Eckman, Carlisle; and several great-nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at 11 AM from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Dr., Drums. Interment will take place privately at the convenience of his family. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday evening, September 15, 2025, from 5 PM to 8 PM and on Tuesday morning from 10 AM until the time of the service.
