Robert C. Robbins, 67, of Drums, passed away early Monday morning, November 13, 2023, following a six-month battle with cancer.
Born in Frackville, August 11, 1956, he was the son of the late Adrian and Julie (Chismar) Robbins and spent the past 33 years in Drums, after moving from Frackville.
Robert was a 1974 graduate of Cardinal Brennan High School, Ashland, and graduated from Penn State University with a bachelor's in political science. He was a corrections counselor for SCI, Frackville. Robert was a US Army veteran having served from 1979 to 1985 and was stationed in Frankfort, Germany and was discharged as Sergeant of Intelligence Analysis. He was a member of Saint John Bosco RC Church, Sugarloaf. Robert was extremely knowledgeable in classic French and Italian works of art, having come to appreciate it during his time in the Army overseas.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his sister, Diane Runge.
Surviving are his loving wife, the former Gail Ferdinand, to whom he was married on February 16, 1991; a step-son, Jino Zambotti and his wife Samantha, Drums; three grandchildren, Natalee, Joseph and Nico Zambotti, at home; and several nieces and nephews.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the convenience of his family. Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
