Robert Charles Lesko, 89, of Conyngham, passed away Thursday evening, July 7, 2022 at Fritzingertown Senior Living Community, Drums,following a six-month illness.
Born in Hazleton, December 28, 1932, he was the son of the late William and Elizabeth (Palsha) Lesko and spent the past 48 years in Conyngham, after moving from West Hazleton.
Robert was a retired Machinist for Barrett & Haentjens, Hazleton, where he had worked for over 40 years. He also taught machining at the Hazleton Area Vocational-Technical School He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War, having served aboard the USS Vulcan. He was a member of St. John Bosco RC Church, Sugarloaf. He was an avid fan of Notre Dame and Philadelphia Eagles Football, and enjoyed traveling with his wife.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his wife the former Florie Scaran, who passed away October 7, 2016; and two brothers William and Bernard Lesko.
Surviving are his daughter Deborah Santangelo, Conyngham, and her companion Robert Zunski, Hazleton; a granddaughter Tara Diehl and her husband Charles, York; a sister Theresa Lynn, Wilton, CT; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held Tuesday July 12, 2022 at 9:30 am from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East) 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. John Bosco RC Church, 573 State Route 93, Sugarloaf. Burial will follow in St. Mary of the Assumption Cemetery, McAdoo. Friends may call at the funeral homes Monday evening 6-8 pm. A Christian Wake Service will be held Monday evening.
