Richard Eugene Tanner, Sr.

Richard Eugene Tanner Sr, 76, of Drifton, passed away late Saturday evening, January 29, 2022 at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Hazleton following a short illness.

Born in Calcutta, India, August 27, 1945, he was the son of the late Carmen and Violet (Dadswell) Lagana and spent the past 17 years in Drifton, after moving from West Hazleton.

Richard was a Retired Electrician for Multi Plastics Extrusion, Hazleton. He attended Saint John Bosco RC, Church, Sugarloaf. He was a member of the Christian Motorcyclists Association, His Glory Riders #622 Poconos Chapter. He enjoyed motorcycles, nature, animals, fishing and fixing things.

He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents by a sister Sandra Lagana Gallagher.

Surviving are two sons Richard Michael Tanner Jr. and his companion Lynnea Burr, Lewisburg; and Daniel Tanner, Beaver Meadows; one daughter Sheryl Tanner, Drifton; a brother Gary Lagana and wife Kathy, Lattimer; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and distant relatives. 

His funeral will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022, at 10 AM from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums. Interment will follow in Calvary RC Cemetery, Drums. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday evening, February 4, 2022 from 7 PM to 9 PM.
