Raymond "Woody" J. Wolfe, 77, of Weston, passed away early Monday morning, May 5, 2025, at his residence in Weston, following a sudden illness.
Born in Shenandoah, February 9, 1948, he was the son of the late Jeanine (Price) and Peter Lipshaw and spent the past 36 years in Weston, after moving from Nuremberg.
Woody graduated from Frackville High School class of 1965 and was employed as a sprinkler fitter for the National Automatic Sprinkler Industry Union #669 and remained an active member for 55 years. He was a US Army veteran during the Vietnam Conflict having served from 1969 - 1972. Woody was a member of the Frackville American Legion Post #398 for 56 years, The VFW Post #8161, Conyngham; and the Frackville Elks Lodge #1533. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing but remained an avid firearms enthusiast. He enjoyed his nightly adventures around town going to play his lucky numbers, Friday morning breakfasts with his best friend, Bob Wagner, and spending time with his grand-dog, Pearl.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his mother and stepfather by his brother, Dennis Wolfe.
Surviving are his loving wife of 38 years, the former Mary Beth Ackerman, to whom he was married on October 11, 1986, in Frackville; three children, Erik Wolfe and his wife Ashley, Bedford, TX; Kristi Wolfe, Fort Worth, TX; and Vanessa Wolfe-Legg and her husband Josh, Nuremberg; a grandson, Miles Wolfe, Bedford, TX; a sister, Sharon Matlack, Wernersville; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 10 AM from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (West), 1265 Rock Glen Road, Rock Glen. Burial will follow in Nuremberg Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6 PM to 8 PM.
