Phyllis Quelly Liotta, 91, of Conyngham, passed away Thursday morning, November 19, 2020 at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest, Allentown, following a sudden illness.
Born in Plainfield, NJ, September 3, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Emilia (DiGiovanni) Quelly and spent the past year in Conyngham after moving from Sugarloaf Township.
Prior to retirement, Phyllis was a Trust Officer for PNC Bank, where she had worked for 22 years. She was an active member of St. John Bosco RC Church, Sugarloaf, since 1971, where she had served as a Eucharistic Minister, member of the parish council, and Sunday School teacher, among many other activities. She was a member of the Valley Lionettes, where she served two terms as President. She was a Meals on Wheels volunteer driver, Valley coordinator, and board member, and served the Cub and Boy Scouts for over 15 years.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband Francis J. Liotta, who passed away June 1, 2011; three brothers Carmen Quelly, his wife Elise, and their son James; Joseph Quelly; and Thomas Quelly and his wife Catherine.
Surviving are her children Dr. Frank J. Liotta and his wife Ann Marie, Downingtown; William J. Liotta, Sugarloaf Township; Dr. Louis Liotta and his wife Dr. Sheila Liotta, Cumberland, RI; Dr. MaryAnne Liotta Armstrong, ESQ, and her husband Lochlan, Purcellville, VA; six grandchildren Daniel, Anya, James, Nicholas, and Marissa Liotta and Balin Armstrong; a sister-in-law Palma Quelly; Berkeley Heights, NJ; a brother-in-law Carmine Liotta, Elizabeth, NJ; a sister-in-law Josephine Oliveri and her husband Vincent, Lakewood, NJ; and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held with a Graveside Service Tuesday. November 24, 2020 at 9 am in Conyngham Union Cemetery, Main Street, Conyngham. COVID-19 restrictions of masks and social distancing will be enforced at the service. A Memorial Mass will also be celebrated at a later date, once all COVID restrictions are lifted.
