Noreen L. Boehmer, 77, of Oneida, passed away Thursday afternoon, October 3, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest in Allentown, following a two-week illness.
Born in Hazleton, April 29, 1947, she was the daughter of the late John Hower and Leona (VanBlargan) Dallas and spent the past six years in Oneida, after spending time in Weston and Rock Glen.
Noreen worked as a Packer at Fabri-Kal, an ice cream scooper at Goodfella's Ice Cream, and made cakes at Scoopers Ice Cream, all in Hazleton. She was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Nuremberg. Noreen lived for her children and grandchildren and was affectionately known as G Ma by many. She enjoyed wine night with the girls every other Friday evening, traveling and adventures with her sister, most recently to Tennessee, arts and crafts, and shopping.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her loving husband, John "Chub" Boehmer a brother, John Hower, a sister, Gail Bartosevich, and two nephews, Robert Boehmer, and William Hower.
Surviving are two children, Darren Boehmer and his wife Michaela, White Haven; and Lisa Bellizia, Sugarloaf; four grandchildren, Ashley Horensky and her husband Ryan, Sugarloaf; Nick Boehmer, Ashland; Rocco Bellizia and his wife Zabrina, Rock Glen; and Jacob Bellizia, Sugarloaf; four great-grandchildren, Kayden, Gage, Paige, and Anneliese; two sisters Carol Sulkevich, Oneida, with whom she resided; and Sharon Nenstiel and her husband Francis, Weston; two brothers, Robert Hower and his wife Cheryl, Colorado Springs, CO; and Dennis Hower and his wife Debbie, Weston; and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. (West), 1265 Rock Glen Road, Rock Glen is assisting the family with the arrangements.
