Nick James Berkheimer, 31, of West Hazleton, passed away Friday evening, September 26, 2025, from injuries he sustained in an automobile accident.
Born in Hazleton, December 21, 1993, he was the son of Vicki (Lewis) Esbensen, West Hazleton and the late Rocklyn D. Berkheimer and had spent most of his life in West Hazleton.
Nick attended Hazleton High School and worked as a Heavy Machine Operator. In his spare time, he enjoyed collecting fossils, geocaching, being outside and traveling. Nick was a compassionate and selfless person, always moving, always available to help a friend with a project, currently helping build a home from the ground up. He will be greatly missed by all he knew and helped.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are four siblings, Jennifer Martzall and husband William Bulliner, Mt. Carmel; John Berkheimer, Hot Springs, AR; Ben Berkheimer and wife Brittany, White Haven; and Julian Jackson, West Hazleton; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held with a Memorial Visitation on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 5 PM to 7 PM from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Dr, Drums. Family and friends are invited to share their memories of Nick at 7 PM. Interment will take place privately at the convenience of his family.
