Michael James Rebarchak

Michael James Rebarchak, 42, of New Lebanon, New York, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2025.

Born in Hazleton, May 13, 1983, he was the son of James J. and Bernadette M. (Shott) Rebarchak and spent the past six years in New Lebanon after moving from Peru, MA. Michael grew up in Weston, PA where he enjoyed hunting, mountain biking, fishing, and sitting around campfires and amusing others with his fantastic sense of humor.

Michael was a 2001 graduate of Hazleton Area High School and then enlisted in the US Army. He was stationed at Ft. Drum in Watertown, NY where he was a PFC in the 41st Engineer Battalion of the 10th Mountain Division. He served one tour of duty in "Operation Iraqi Freedom". During his time in the service, Michael was awarded many medals for his outstanding achievements, one of which was the "2002 Super Sapper 41st Engineer Battalion Soldier of the Year".

After being discharged from the US Army he entered the Carpenters Union Local #645 of Northeast PA through the "Helmets to Hardhats" apprenticeship course. He was most recently employed as a Property Maintenance Manager for Alexander Haley Property Maintenance LLC, Stephentown, NY for the past six years.

While living in Weston, Mike was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. He was also a previous member of VFW Post #8161, Conyngham. Mike enjoyed all things history related, watching the History Channel, and going to museums.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Rina and James Rebarchak.

Surviving in addition to his parents, are his maternal grandparents, Louis and Ellen Shott, Allentown; two children, Skylar Sarge, Bloomsburg; and Jace Rebarchak, Dalton, MA; two brothers, Jason Rebarchak and fiancée Krystle Bonner; and Brian Rebarchak and his wife Jamie, all of Weston; two nephews, Brody and Rhett Rebarchak and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

His funeral will be held with a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, November 28, 2025, at 10 AM from Sacred Heart Church, 554 Main St, Weston, PA 18256. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 9 AM until the start of the Mass.
