Michael Palushock, Jr.

Michael Palushock Jr., 92, of Hazleton, Pennsylvania, passed away December 26, 2024 at The Manor at St. Luke Village in Hazleton, where he led the daily rosary, and the stations of the cross, and was past president of the residential council ans served on the food committee.

Born in Fern Glen, PA, October 25, 1932, he was the son of the late Michael and Mary (Phillips) Palushock, Sr. and spent the past 8 years in Hazleton, Pennsylvania after moving from Nuremberg.

Mike graduated from North Union Twp High School class of 1950. While working in a dress factory in Nuremberg, he started a mail correspondence course for Accounting. He started his lifelong career as an accountant for Dorr-Oliver corp for 13 years.  He left when his job was transferred to Stanford, CT.  and wanted to remain local. He then joined Milton Lloyd CPA where he worked for 43 years til his retirement in 2011. He was a member of Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Weston, where he was a former member of the finance committee of the church council and the Holy Name Society.  

He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by sisters Marie Bookford and Margaret Palushock; Nieces Mary Catherine Bookford and Patricia Kahn; and Nephew John Michael Bookford

Surviving are his niece Yolanda Bookford and her daughter, Marcella Sewell, NJ; cousin James Palushock and his family, Nuremberg, PA; and many other cousins. 

The family wishes to thank nurses and staff at St. Lukes Pavilion for all their care and support and becoming Mike's family, he loved you all especially Renee, Anna and Dr Lobitz. Many thanks to Father Ric, Christian, Sudhir, and McDowell along with the Eucharist Ministers at St. John Bosco Church for all their spiritual care of Michael.

His funeral will be held with Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday January 4, 2025  at 11:00 am in Sacred Heart of Jesus RC Church, Weston. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart RC Cemetery, Weston. Friends may call at Sacred Heart of Jesus RC Church, Weston on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM till time of Mass.
