He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by a son Michael and a step-daughter Kalene Lutz.

Surviving are his wife, Kathy (Miller) Lutz, to whom he shared his life for 25 years, and was married on July 11, 2020; his beloved service dog, Ace, a  Belgian Malinos; a daughter Shannon Cantner, Clarks Summit; a step-daughter Gina Lutz, Mountain Top; a brother David Mrazik, Hubert, NC; eight grandchildren Stephen, Sarah, and Emma Cantner; Alexandria and Kayla, Mrazik, Brianna Mrazik-Warner, William Dougherty; and Miles Trychta; five great grandchildren; a nephew David Mrazik, Jr.; and a niece Vanessa Cuff.
