Melanie Anne Murphy-Poalillo, 60, of Sugarloaf, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2020, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg in Bethlehem, following a sudden illness.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, July 19, 1960, she was the daughter of the late John and Coral (Jones) Klem and spent the past two years in Sugarloaf, after moving from Henryville.
Melanie was passionate about her career in resort management and was a member of the Pennsylvania Ski Area Association as well as the National Ski Area Association. She attended St. Matthew's Church, East Stroudsburg. She enjoyed antiquing, gardening, gem collecting, and reading.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her loving husband Charles A. Poalillo, who passed away October 14, 2014; and a sister Susan Brezinsky.
Surviving are her two children Mitch Poalillo, Sugarloaf; and Carla Murphy, White Haven; three grandchildren Ayla Hutchison and her companion Rashawn Klein, Hazleton; Beck Hutchison, McAdoo; and Sebastian Dotter, Sugarloaf; a great-grandson Luka Klein, Hazleton; a brother John Klem and his wife Zina, White Haven; a sister Christina Klem, Sugarloaf; brother Rodney Klem, York; two nieces Ashley Morgan and her husband Joshua, Parrish, FL; and Alexis Yankanich-Dotter and her husband Nicholas, Sugarloaf; one nephew Vince Brezinsky and his wife Julie-Michelle Davis, Dallas, TX; and Stanlee her Pomeranian.
Friends may call at Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums on Monday, October 12, 2020 from 10 AM to 11 AM. Burial will take place privately at Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg.
