Maurice James Cusatis

Maurice "Moe" James Cusatis, 74, of Drums, passed away Friday evening, January 17, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest in Allentown, following a two-month illness.

Born in Hazleton, March 28, 1950, he was the son of the late Alphonse Albert and Meda (Beishline) Cusatis Rossi and spent the past 50 years in Drums, after moving from Hazleton.

Moe was an Engineer for Fabri-Kal, Hazleton for 47 years, having retired in March of 2020. He was a US Army veteran during the Vietnam Conflict having served from 1968 to 1972. Moe was a member of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Parish at the Church of St. Joseph, Hazleton. He was also a member of Jay Gee Travelers Camping Club.  In his younger years he enjoyed shooting sporting clays, bowling, fishing, driving race cars and dirt bikes, ski racing, and restoring old cars.

He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his loving wife, the former Kathleen A. Gregor, who passed away July 24, 2020; and two brothers, Albert and Peter Cusatis.

Surviving are his two sons, Cody Cusatis and his wife Ashlee, Weatherly; and Corey Cusatis, Drums; step-grandchildren, Robert and Cloe Kelly, Weatherly; a brother, David Cusatis and his wife Sandra, Ponca, NE; four sisters, Lorraine Giuliani and her husband Robert, Freeland; Shirley Smith, Hazleton; Patricia Tunnessen, Hazleton; and Joan Malfatti, Hanover; and many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 9:30 AM from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Good Shepherd RC Church, 87 S. Hunter Hwy, Drums, PA 18222.  Burial will follow in Calvary RC Cemetery, Drums.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, from 6 PM- 8 PM.
