Matthew Joseph Feifer, 58, of Nuremberg, passed away early Saturday morning June 26, 2021 at his home following a unexpected illness.
Born in Elkton, MD, May 6, 1963, he was the son of Loretta (Greising) Schlauch, Mountain Grove, and the late Anthony Feifer and spent the past 55 years in Nuremberg, after moving from Elkton, MD.
Matthew was a 1982 graduate of West Hazleton High School, and Hazleton Area Vocational Technical School's Masonry Program, where he won the award for the best student in this program. He worked as a Tile Mechanic for several Masonry Tile Installers, the last being Finkel Tile. He was a US Army veteran having served from 1983 - 1986. He was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Nuremberg. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, planting gardens around his house, spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his mother and step-father are his wife, the former Sharon Grusastkie, to whom he was married on May 3, 1986; three daughters Kayla Feifer, Philadelphia; Sara Feifer Rimmer, Hazleton; Ashara Keefer and her husband Ricky, Weatherly; four grandchildren Adonis, Mason, Olivia, and Madelyn, two sisters Debra Dennison and her husband Mark, Zion Grove; and Juanita Kanter and her husband Randy, Mountain Grove; a brother Anthony Feifer, Weston; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 1pm at Towers Bar & Restaurant, 1478 Tomhicken Rd, Fern Glen, PA 18241. Dinner will be served to all that attend.
